10 people died and 363 others sustained injuries of varying severity as a result of traffic accidents in several provinces during the last 48 hours, according to Civil Protection services.
The same source explained that, in addition to the interventions related to traffic accidents, from 14 to 16 October, Civil Protection personnel provided first aid to 10 people who suffered from suffocation as a result of inhaling carbon monoxide gas emitted from heating devices and bathroom heaters in each of Naama and Laghouat provinces. The victims were taken care of on the spot and then transferred in a stable condition to local hospitals.
On the other hand, Civil Protection services were called to put out 07 different urban fires in each of the provinces of Algiers, Blida, Batna, Mila, Sidi Bel Abbes and Tindouf.
With regard to activities related to the prevention of the spread of Coronavirus, during the same period, Civil Protection units carried out 114 awareness-raising operations across the national territory, urging and reminding of the need to respect hygiene rules and social distancing, in addition to carrying out 49 sterilization operations across the country.
