3.4 earthquake hits Batna province in northeast Algeria

A 3.4 magnitude earthquake hit, today Friday, at 06h33 in the morning, the province of Batna, in eastern parts of Algeria.

According to the Center for Research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Geophysics (CRAAG), the epicenter of the quake was located 4 km southwest of Ouled Slem, in the town of Batna.

According to the same source, this earthquak is an aftershock of the one recorded on Thursday at 11 :05 PM with a magnitude of 3.3 degrees on Richter Scale near Ouled Slem in the same province.

It should be noted that a 3.6-magnitude earthquake was recorded on Thursday at 8:00 PM, 20 km south of Sour Al-Ghezlan in the province of Bouira.
