3 people died, and 199 injured in traffic accidents in the last 24 hours

Three people have died and 199 others have sustained injuries of varying severity, during the last 24 hours, in traffic accidents recorded across several provinces of the country, according to a statement issued today, Monday, by the Civil Protection services.

During the same period, Civil Protection elements – the statement adds – “intervened after 4 people died asphyxiated by carbon monoxide gas, emitted from heating devices and water heaters in Constantine where two people (an elderly man and woman), aged 88 and 86, died asphyxiated by carbon monoxide gas emitted from a heater in the family home in the municipality of El-Kharroub, and in Oran, where two (2) male members of the same family, aged 24 and 20 years, died asphyxiated by carbon monoxide gas, emitted from a water heater in their house in Belkaid district of the municipality of Bir El Djir “.

With regard to activities related to the prevention of the spread of the Corona virus, during the same period, Civil Protection units carried out 27 awareness-raising operations across the national territory, urging citizens and reminding them of the need to respect quarantine rules as well as social distancing, in addition to carrying out 34 sterilization operations in public facilities and structures, especially residential compounds and streets.
