31 people were killed and 1,499 were injured of varying severity in 1,229 traffic accidents across various provinces of the country during the period from 5 to 11 September, according to Civil Protection services.
The same source pointed out that the heaviest outcome was recorded in the province of Chlef, with the death of 4 people at the scene and the injury of 61 people. They were treated and transferred to hospital centers following 57 traffic accidents.
With regard to health evacuations, Civil Protection agents carried out 12,341 interventions, during which 11,572 wounded and sick were evacuated to hospitals, in addition to intervening in the field of various operations to cover 4,734 ambulance operations and rescue 359 people from danger.
With regard to fires, Civil Protection elements were able to put out 1,380 fires, including household, industrial and various fires, the most important of which were in the province of Algiers, where 150 interventions were recorded on 102 fires.
