National Security Services recorded 310 physical traffic accidents in urban areas during the period from 20 to 26 September 2022, resulting in the death of 11 people and the injury of 356 others, according to a statement issued by the General Directorate of National Security.
The number of traffic accidents decreased by (-15) accidents, and the number of wounded was estimated by (-43), compared to the statistics recorded last week, and the same number of deaths, estimated at 11, were recorded.
The relevant data also indicated that the causes of these accidents are primarily due to the human factor, at a rate of more than 95 percent, as a result of lack of concentration when driving, in addition to other reasons related to the vehicle.
In this context, the General Directorate of National Security renews its call to public road users to respect the traffic law, and to exercise caution while driving.
