46 people died and 1 535 others were injured in 1 209 traffic accidents, which occurred in several provinces of the country from May 8 to 14, according to a statement issued today, Tuesday, by the Civil Protection Services.
The same source indicated that the heaviest toll was recorded in El Oued, where 8 people died and 33 others were injured in 23 traffic accidents.
In the same period, the civil protection units made 839 interventions that allowed to put out 523 house and industrial fires and other fires, the most important of which were in the province of Algiers which recorded 78 interventions following the outbreak of 44 fires.
As for health evacuations, during the same period, civil protection units carried out 13 024 interventions, during which 12 632 wounded and sick were evacuated to hospitals.
