67th anniversary of outbreak of the revolution: President of the Republic chairs a reception at National Army Circle

The President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired, on Monday evening, at the National Army Circle – Beni Messous (Algiers), a ceremony in honor of senior officials of the People’s National Army, workers and retirees, in the presence of a number of high officials in the State, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 67th anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious revolution of November 1, 1954, according to a communiqué issued by the Ministry of National Defense.

The President of the Republic was received at the entrance to the National Army Circle by Lieutenant-General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army.

The ceremony, which falls – according to the same source – “in the framework of the long-standing traditions of the People’s National  Army, which aims at valuing our various glorious historical stations and in perpetuating the souls of our righteous martyrs, was attended by the Speaker of the Council of the Nation, the Speaker of the People’s National Assembly, the Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and members of the government, as well as Lieutenant-General Ben Ali Ben Ali, Commander of the Republican Guard, Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defense, commanders of the forces, commander of the National Gendarmerie, Commander of the First Military Region, heads of departments, directors, heads of central departments of the Ministry of National Defense and the staff of the People’s National Army, as well as senior officials in the state and national figures and Mujahideen.”

During this ceremony, “the audience listened to the national anthem performed by the band of the Republican Guard, then watched a documentary film entitled: (France’s Shame in Algeria…Crimes Against Humanity) produced by the Directorate of Communication, Information and Guidance for the Staff of the People’s National Army” before “visiting a photo exhibition organized on the occasion which lists the various stages that the glorious liberation revolution went through from its outbreak to independence.

The ceremony concluded with an interesting display of fireworks to commemorate the occasion, according to the press release.
