7 people died and 290 injured in the last 48 hours

Seven people were killed and 290 others sustained injuries of varying severity, which occurred in several provinces during the past 48 hours, according to a report by the Civil Protection services today, Saturday.

Civil Protection elements also intervened to provide first aid to 12 people who suffocated with carbon monoxide gas emitted by various heating devices at the level of Blida, Medea, and Saida. The victims were taken care of on the spot.

On the other hand, elements of the Civil Protection intervened to put out 05 different urban fires in the provinces of Algiers, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Oum El Bouaghi, Tebessa and Relizane.

With regard to activities related to the prevention of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, during the same period throughout the national territory, Civil Protection units carried out 53 awareness-raising operations for the benefit of citizens, urging them and reminding them of the need to respect the quarantine rules, as well as social distancing, in addition to carrying out 18 sterilization operations across public facilities and structures, especially residential complexes and streets.
