Seven (7) people were killed and 341 others sustained injuries of varying severity across the country during the period from 16 to 18 September, according to what was reported today, Saturday, by Civil Protection services.
The source stated that Civil Protection elements also recovered the body of a 22-year-old man who drowned in a water dam at Si Lakhdar farm in the municipality and district of Bir Touta in Algiers.
With regard to fighting forest fires and agricultural crops, Civil Protection units extinguished during the same period 14 fires across several provinces of the country, including 7 forest fires, 3 bush fires, two bush fires, as well as two fires for agricultural crops.
The authorities estimated the forest fires at 25 hectares, 10 hectares of bush, 9 hectares of grass, in addition to 240 fruit trees and 550 bundles of hay.
