7 persons rescued by the civil protection following carbon monoxide inhalation

The Civil Protection Services rescued seven people poisoned by carbon monoxide in the municipality of Boughni, forty kilometers southwest of Tizi Ouzou, according to a statement issued today Monday by the civil protection directorate.

The seven people, members of the same family and aging from 3 to 25 years old, inhaled carbon monoxide emitted from a gas, according to the same source.

Boughni civil protection provided first aid to the victims on-site, before transporting them to the hospital in the same municipality, the statement said.

Following this incident, Civil Protection Services renewed their call to respect safety rules related to gas use and to ensure open venting and airflows and burned gas outlets, and to avoid using gas stoves and cooking utensils for heating.
