76 fires have been extinguished across 15 provinces in last 24 hours

Civil Protection services have managed to put out 76 fires in forests and bushes across 15 provinces during the last 24 hours, while 05 other fires broke out at 11 am today in the province of Tizi Ouzou, according to a statement of the same services.

The statement indicated that, “During the last 24 hours, Civil Protection units extinguished 76 fires in forests and bushes across 15 provinces: 40 fires were extinguished in Tizi Ouzou, 11 in El Tarf, 08 fires in Bejaia, 04 in Jijel and 04 fires in Blida, in addition to extinguishing two fires in the provinces of Ain Defla, Souk Ahras, Medea, Skikda, and a fire in each of the provinces of Tebessa, Annaba, Boumerdes and Bordj Bou Arreridj.

However, the same source added, 05 other fires broke out in Tizi Ouzou at 11 a.m. in Wadiya in Tizi-Ntlata, Akbil in the place called Ait Mahmoud, Beni Douala, Ben Issa forest, Ain al-Hamam in the village of Ait Yahya in Taguenit, and in Larbaa Nath Irathen in the village of Ait Okacha.

Civil Protection teams are also currently working with the relevant services – the source indicates – by mobilizing all the necessary human and material means – to put out 35 fires across 11 provinces: 09 fires in Jijel, 07 fires in Bejaia, 06 fires in El Tarf, 03 fires in Guelma. 03 fires in Souk Ahras, 02 fires in Chlef and Boumerdes, and a fire in Annaba, Ain Defla, and Mascara.

The statement also underlined that agents are currently carrying out a guarding operation, to avoid the breaking out of fires, as citizens are required to be vigilant and careful in light of the continuation of hot weather conditions such as the heat wave and strong winds, and in this regard, Civil Protection calls on citizens to call immediately hotline 1021 and the emergency number 14 in case of an outbreak of any fire.
