A specialist at Pasteur Institute in Algeria appointed as member of the WHO advisory group

Pasteur Institute Algiers announced today, Tuesday, in a statement, the appointment of the head of the Laboratory of Arboviruses and Emerging Viruses in the Department of Virology of Pasteur Institute, Dr. Hachid Aïssam, as a member of the Technical Advisory Group for Biosafety of the World Health Organization (WHO).

The Biosafety Advisory Group is responsible for providing the World Health Organization with recommendations and guidance on the scientific, technical and strategic aspects of biosecurity.

Biosafety and biosecurity at Pasteur Institute laboratories in Algeria constitute one of the most important priorities of the current administration as they were included in the work program of the General Directorate of the Institute two years ago, as a goal of high importance.
