Abdelkader Taleb Omar: Sahrawi President Ibrahim Ghali is in Spain in a period of recovery after recovering from the Corona virus

The ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic in Algeria, Abdelkader Taleb Omar, affirmed today, Tuesday, that Sahrawi President Ibrahim Ghali is in Spain in a period of recovery after recovering from the Corona virus.

Abdelkader Taleb Omar said in a statement to the Algerian News Agency, that the Sahrawi authorities confirm that President Ibrahim Ghali has not been summoned for investigation, noting that the media hype that arose about President Ghali is part of the Moroccan propaganda campaign to jeopardize the Sahrawi cause.

He explained, in this respect,  that the Makhzen system is trying, through its paid pens, to divert attention from the Sahrawi issue by “creating rumors and fake news about issues that exist only in the imagination of the Moroccan regime, stressing that these stories are“ incorrect and directed to media consumption and to blackmail any country that refuses to follow it ”.

The ambassador affirmed that Morocco is trying, through this “propaganda and misleading war,” to cover up its crimes in the field of human rights violations in Western Sahara, especially in the occupied territories, after its blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement.

In this context, the Sahrawi diplomat cited the reports of many international human rights organizations such as “Amnesty International” and “Human Rights Watch”, which proved Morocco’s involvement in violating human rights, in addition to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, which confirmed in its latest statement, “the existence of pressure by parties supporting the Moroccan regime in order to turn a blind eye to these violations.”

He highlighted, in the same context, that the Sahrawi side has nothing to hide, and it is the one calling for the creation of a mechanism to monitor human rights in Western Sahara, but the Moroccan regime insists on refusal.

For his part, the representative of the Polisario Front in Spain, Abdallah El-Orabi, stressed, in a statement to the Algerian News Agency, that what was circulated in the media reports regarding summoning by the Spanish judiciary of the Sahrawi president and the Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Ibrahim Ghali, for interrogation tomorrow, Wednesday, is “groundless.”

The Sahrawi diplomat mentioned that Morocco is waging a misleading campaign, as part of the psychological war to jeopardize the Sahrawi cause, and it is also waging a “provocation and blackmail” campaign against Spain in an attempt to influence its position on the Sahrawi issue and push Madrid towards rebellion against international legality.

Meanwhile, sources from the Sahrawi Presidency refuted, that the President of the SADR had been summoned for investigation by the Spanish judiciary, saying, “The news is fake and is just malicious rumors spread by the Makhzen system because of the of frustration and disappointment it is going through which pushed it to blackmail the Spanish government and asked it to choose between Morocco and the Sahrawis.
