Academics on TV: New government and parliament face challenge of restoring national economy equilibrium and earn citizens trust

The issue of the appointment of the new government, the official inauguration of  new deputies to People’s National Assembly, and the election of Ibrahim Boughali, as a head of the lower chamber, were at the heart of the discussion of the weekly program “The TV Interview” in its new issue.

 In the presence of a group of university professors, the participants touched on the most important challenges awaiting the executive body, led by Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Aïmene Benabderrahmane, the government’s plan to achieve economic take-off and exit from being dependent to hydrocarbon income, options for maintaining purchase power, as well as the issue of rebuilding the relationship of trust between Algerians and the legislature.

Participants also discussed the expected role of Parliament as a legislative authority that exercises oversight and limits the manifestations of mismanagement and corruption that have prevailed in the past years, in line with the comprehensive strategy of President of the Republic to build the new Algeria according to a participatory view.
