The Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, Lieutenant General Saïd Chengriha, renewed his support for the Algerian national football team, despite its elimination yesterday, Thursday, in the first round of the 2021 African Nations Cup in Cameroon, stressing his encouragement to the team for the upcoming match of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Qatar.
The Ministry of Defense wrote on its official Facebook page: “Your elimination from the finals of the Africa Cup of Nations does not mean forgetting the victories and titles you have achieved. On the contrary, we will increase our support and encouragement to you, and you will remain our heroes who made joys for all the Algerian people on many occasions. Best of luck for the match of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Qatar.”
It is worth noting that the Algerian national team (the African Cup title holder) stumbled against its Ivorian counterpart 1-3 today, Thursday, in Douala, to leave the tournament from the first round.
