The Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Aïmene Benabderrahmane affirmed, Thursday in Algiers, that the value of the collected local tax is “very small”, which calls for more work to be developed.
During his presentation of the Finance Draft Law for the year 2022 before members of the National Assembly’s economic and financial affairs, Mr. Aïmene Benabderrahmane clarified that the local tax revenue in Algeria does not exceed 0.06 percent of the total value of tax revenues.
In this context, he pointed out that the local tax rate in some developed countries ranges between 10 and 15 percent of the total tax value.
Here, the Prime Minister called for the development of local collection to help raise state revenues and ensure fiscal justice.
