An Air Algérie official confirmed, yesterday, Thursday, the arrival of two stations to generate oxygen and hundreds of concentrators, on Wednesday, at Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers, noting that the organization’s cargo branch remains mobilized to transport oxygen therapy equipment.
Amine Andaloussi, Director of Communications at Air Algerie, said that these supplies were received from Europe and Asia through two flights, the first organized during the morning and the second on Wednesday evening at Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers.
Amine Andaloussi indicated that the two oxygen production stations are directed to two hospital institutions inside the country, in order to provide them with the necessary equipment to meet the high demand for oxygen recorded due to the high number of Covid-19 infections.
As for oxygen concentrators, the same official confirmed that they are the result of donations by Algerian nationals abroad for the benefit of associations that help patients in Algeria.
In the same context, it was announced that another group of 300 oxygen concentrators is waiting this afternoon at Houari Boumediene International Airport, and it will be delivered by cargo branch of Air Algérie. Andaloussi stressed that “Air Algerie has been mobilized through its cargo branch since the beginning of the wave of infection with the new delta mutant, in order to ensure the transfer of oxygen concentrators or any other medical device used in responding to the pandemic from abroad to Algeria.”
In the same regard, the same official stated that the company provides “a lot of aid and facilities” to all institutions, associations and private persons to import the necessary medical equipment in this sensitive health situation, especially oxygen therapy equipment.
