Air Algérie: flights from and to the South-East of the country disrupted

The national airliner Air Algérie announced, on Thursday in a statement, disruptions in its flight schedule to and from the south-eastern regions of the country, due to bad weather conditions.

These disruptions are due, according to the same source, to “unfavourable weather conditions at the airports in the south-east of the country (strong winds accompanied by sand) which strongly reduce visibility”.

Air Algerie spokesman Amine Andaloussi explained that in application of the passenger safety principle, “it was deemed preferable not to start flights to these airports, particularly following the current strong winds”.

“As soon as the weather conditions improve, flights will resume as normal to and from these domestic airports,” he said.

It should be noted that this alert “remains in force” until the weather conditions improve, the statement said.
