Algeria and South Korea examine partnership opportunities in anti-cancer drugs

The Director-General of the Central Pharmacy of Hospitals, Ali Aoun, received the South Korean Director, In Hyun Paik, and the Director-General of the Saidal Group, Fatouma Akassem, who discussed partnership opportunities in the field of anti-cancer drug production, according to a statement issued today, Thursday, by a the Central Pharmacy of hospitals.

During this meeting, which took place yesterday, Wednesday, the CEO of Saidal Group confirmed that the group will start the production of drugs destined to the treatment of cancer in partnership with the South Korean Group (ckd otto), suggesting that the central pharmacy of hospitals enters as a partner in the project.

The Director-General of the Central Pharmacy of Hospitals stated that he would study the project data presented by Saidal Group as a first step.

The same statement indicated that this project would contribute to reducing the cost of importing drugs destined to the treatment of cancer, which cost the state huge amounts of money.

On the occasion, Mr. Aoun referred to the role played by the central pharmacy of hospitals to encourage local production, which would contribute to covering national needs.

The Director-General of the central pharmacy – the same source adds – revealed the launch of a national tender for local producers to purchase anti-cancer drugs before the end of June.
