Algeria celebrates today, Friday April 16th, Youm Al’Ilm” (Science Day), to commemorate the departure of the pioneer of scientific, religious and cultural renaissance, the founder of the Association of Algerian Muslim Scholars, Imam Sheikh Abdelhamid Benbadis, who passed away on this day in 1940.
On this occasion, the governorate of Constantine organized a remembrance visit to the tomb of Sheikh Abdelhamid Benbadis, in the presence of local civil and security authorities, members of the family of the scholar and many representatives of the revolutionary family. A wreath of flowers was placed on his tomb and Al-Fatiha was recited on his soul.
