Air Algerie flights resumption between Algeria and Libya and the launch of a sea lane between the two countries within the shortest possible time were the main subjects of talks held Sunday between Minister of transport, Aissa Bakkai, and the ambassador of Algeria to Libya, Kamel Hijazi, according to a statement of the Ministry of transport.

According to the same source, the meeting took place at the ministry’s headquarters, where the two officials discussed “the resumption of Air Algerie flights and also the operational, administrative and organizational arrangements for the resumption of the flights, as well as the opening of a sea lane between Algeria and Tripoli as soon as possible”.

It is noteworthy that these efforts are part of the contribution of the transport sector to strengthening fraternal relations and increasing cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting took place in line with the instructions of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, coming just after the visit of the chairman of the Presidential Council of Libya, Mohamed Yunus al-Menfi.

The visit of the Chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council to Algeria is part of “continuing cooperation, confirming the strength of the fraternal relations between the two brotherly peoples”.
