During a meeting chaired by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Council of Ministers approved a memorandum of understanding between Algeria and Mauritania to complete the land road linking Tindouf and the Mauritanian region of Zouerate.
A press release issued by the Presidency of the Republic stated that “the Council of Ministers approved a memorandum of understanding between Algeria and Mauritania, to complete the land road linking the Algerian cities of Tindouf and Mauritanian Zouerate, signed in Algeria on December 28, 2021.”
It is noteworthy that under this agreement, a road linking the two cities, at a distance of 775 km, will be completed by a group of national institutions, which will allow Algeria to construct, for the first time since independence, a facility of great importance outside its borders.
