Upon the order of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, 70 tons of humanitarian aid were sent to Syria on Sunday from the Boufarik air base (Blida), after the devastating earthquake that hit this sister country last Monday.
Overseen by the President of the Algerian Red Crescent, Ibtissem Hamlaoui, this operation is part of the humanitarian response to help the victims of the devastating earthquake. The load, transported on board three military aircraft, includes food products, notably powdered milk for babies, as well as medicines, medical equipment, children’s clothing and blankets.
In a statement to the press on the sidelines of this solidarity action, Ms Hamlaoui said that “the operation was carried out in perfect coordination with the People’s National Army, the Syrian authorities and the Syrian Red Crescent”.
” The essential needs of the populations in the disaster areas in Syria have been pinpointed through permanent contact with the CRA team which is on the spot alongside the Civil Protection team which is doing a brilliant job that honours Algeria “, she said.
