The Algerian exhibition stand has won, during its participation in the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2021), held in Durban (South Africa) from 15 to 21 November, the award for the best official pavilion, said the Ministry of Trade and Export Promotion.

Algeria receives, for the first time, this honorary medal, among the 55 countries participating in this event which has a total of 1,100 exhibitors, said the Ministry of Trade in a publication on its official Facebook page.

This distinction rewards “the quality of the products and services available, in addition to the great number of foreign economic operators and visitors from 92 countries around the world that visited Algeria stand in Durban”, adds the same source.

According to the ministry, the Algerian pavilion was also marked by several visits of officials and some African leaders who received explanations from representatives of the Ministry of Trade and Export Promotion in charge of coordinating and supervising this participation, underlining “the considerable support provided to the Algerian mission by the chargé d’affaires at the Algerian embassy in Pretoria (South Africa).

Algeria took part in the 2nd edition of the IATF 2021, organised by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), with more than 60 exhibitors and companies operating in various sectors in an exhibition area estimated at 600 m2.

Organised under the slogan “Building bridges for a successful African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)”, the event aims to “bring together the views of stakeholders in the African region and intensify efforts to support and encourage the AfCFTA, in order for it to be a unified market for the exchange and export of various goods at the African level without fiscal and customs restrictions”, it is also stated.
