Algeria-Turkey: Opening of 11th session of Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation at expert level

The work of the 11th session of the Algerian-Turkish intergovernmental commission for economic, scientific and technical cooperation kicked off Tuesday in Algiers at the level of experts of the two countries, before the work of the joint commission takes place tomorrow, Wednesday.

The work of the joint government commission, which will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, will take place under the co-chairmanship of the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, and the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Fatih Dönmez.

On the sidelines of the work of this session, a business forum dedicated to energy will be organized at the level of the Higher School of Finance and Catering in the capital, in the presence of the two ministers.

The 11th session will be held in implementation of the economic, scientific and technical cooperation agreement signed between Algeria and Turkey on October 20, 1983.

The bilateral cooperation mechanism will also allow the two countries to evaluate this cooperation since the last session organized in Istanbul in September 2012, as well as to study ways and means of enhancing it in all areas of common interest, according to the Ministry of Energy and Mines.

The commission’s work comes in a context marked by a “positive” development in relations between Algeria and Turkey, and the two countries’ desire to develop and strengthen bilateral cooperation at the economic, commercial, cultural, scientific and technical levels, added the communiqué.
