Algeria TV Honored by ASBU for Outstanding Coverage of Arab Summit

The Arab News and Programs Exchange Center of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) awarded a certificate and a shield to the Algerian Public Television EPTV, in recognition of its outstanding efforts in covering the Arab Summit held in Algiers on November 1st and 2nd, 2022.

The ceremony was organized on the sidelines of the Arab radio and television coordinators, engineers and technicians of exchange networks meeting in Algiers.

The meeting is intended to be a space to assess the achievements and address the shortcomings to enable Arab citizens to access reliable and professional information through the various programs and broadcasts of the radios and televisions.

“ASBU provides its users with the fastest and cheapest technologies for the exchange of media products, in addition to opening up horizons for cooperation with global exchange systems, which holds the promise of a bright future for Arab media and establishments,” he said.

For his part, ASBU Director General Suleiman Abderrahim hailed the “key” role of the Arab News and Programs Exchange Center in coordination with ASBU and its professional structures in the exchange of news and programs, and in facilitating the transmission of radio and television products to its member organisations and partners in radio and tv as well as and regional and international professional media organisations.

The head of the Arab News and Programs Exchange Center Exchange, Mohcen Slimani, said that the meetings of radio and television coordinators and engineers will lead to “professional and operational” guidelines for future exchanges, especially in view of the “positive” results of the exchanges recorded last year.

He announced the holding of two training workshops on the use of the new Cloud and social media, with a view to developing the exchange of news and programs via these means.
