Algeria vocational training minister receives Portugal Ambassador to Algeria

Algeria Minister of vocational training and education, Yassine Marabi, received on Tuesday at the ministry’s headquarters the ambassador of Portugal to Algeria, Luis de Albuquerque Veloso, as part of strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, according to a ministry statement.

“The two sides exchanged talks on Algerian – Portuguese relations, especially with regard to current developments and challenges in the field of vocational training and education ”the source said.

“Mr. Marabi presented a brief overview of vocational training system reform and development program,” stressing that the ministry’s work plan “provides great importance to aligning the training programs with the operability of the trainees”.

The minister also pointed out, according to the statement, “the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of vocational training and education and supporting it in the future by Portuguese institutions located in Algeria, especially through the professional training of the teachers and the provision of practical training opportunities for the trainees.”

For his part, the Portuguese ambassador expressed “his readiness to support cooperation between the two countries in this field, by encouraging the opening of Portuguese institutions to vocational training institutions in order to transfer experience and benefit from the applied training of the applicants.”

The statement concluded with”the parties affirm the need to implement the content of the memorandum of Understanding signed in Lisbon on 3 October 2018″ and “it was agreed that the meeting of the Joint Technical Committee will be held as soon as possible to prepare the road paper for cooperation between the two countries.
