Algerian-Italian meeting on prospects for industrial cooperation

Industry Minister Ahmed Zeghdar received, on Tuesday in Algiers, Italian Ambassador to Algiers, Giovanni Polizzi, with whom he discussed the state and prospects of industrial cooperation and partnership between the two countries, according to a press release of the ministry.

The two parties spoke of “the close and strategic relations” between Algeria and Italy at the political and economic levels, expressing “the will of the two countries to consolidate and intensify cooperation and industrial partnership through the development of ‘successful investment’ projects.

In this regard, Mr. Zeghdar called on Italian companies, made up mainly of small and medium-sized enterprises, to “invest in Algeria and strengthen their presence on the Algerian market through win-win partnerships, by embarking on projects in the areas of manufacturing and agri-food industries, mechanical industries or textiles”.

For his part, the Italian ambassador expressed the “great interest” shown by companies in his country with a view to investing in Algeria, particularly in “the mechanical and manufacturing industries, as well as in renewable energies and mines,” the statement concluded.
