Algiers hosts first ever Arab Festival of Inchad and Madih

The first Arab Meeting of Inchad and Madih was held on Sunday evening in Algiers, with the participation of several Mounchidine and religious song choirs from different regions of Algeria, to celebrate the holy month of Ramadhan and that of heritage.

Inaugurated by the Minister of Culture and Arts, Malika Bendouda, at Moufdi-Zakaria Auditorium at Palace of Culture in Kouba, this first meeting, organised for one evening by the Algerian Federation for Peace and Humanity, chaired by Belkacem Chihaoui, took place under the slogan, “Spiritual Breaths and Artistic Trends within Ramadhan”.

Recalling that the Art of Inchad and Madih were themselves an “invitation to rise in spirituality and to rise towards humanistic values”, the Minister of Culture reiterated her willingness to “accompany and support” these “young “prodigies” with their vibrant and rich voices.

The companies, “En’Noudjoum el fenniya li el inchad” from Ghardaïa, “Nour El Moustapha” from Mostaganem and “Cheikh Belhaddad” from Bejaïa, as well as the tenors, Nadjib Ayache, Lokmane Skendar, Zoheir Farès and Yacine Hamouche, laureates in several competitions of different Arab and international events, competed for the prizes of “The Golden Company”, “The Golden Voice” and “The Golden Feather”.

The Golden Company Prize was awarded by the jury, ex aequo, to the company “En’Noudjoum el fenniya li el inchad” from Ghardaïa directed by Ahmed Djamel and “Nour El Moustapha” from Mostaganem, headed by Belalia Bendehiba, while the Golden Voice Prize and the Golden Pen Prize were respectively awarded to Abderrahmane Djouamaï and Khaled Ishak.

The Golden Company Prize was awarded by the jury, ex aequo, to the company “En’Noudjoum el fenniya li el inchad” from Ghardaïa directed by Ahmed Djamel and “Nour El Moustapha” from Mostaganem, directed by Belalia Bendehiba, while the Golden Voice Prize and the Golden Pen Prize were obtained by Abderrahmane Djouamaï and Khaled Ishak, respectively.

In the presence of representatives of the diplomatic mission of the State of Palestine accredited to Algiers, the winners and all the artists participating in this event were awarded honorific trophies supported by a financial award from the National Office for Copyright and Neighbouring Rights (Onda).

The large audience, that respected the strict sanitary measures against the spread of the Coronavirus, enjoyed the solemn atmosphere of the religious song for two hours, applauding for a long time the artists’ performances.
