
An exhibition for productive women and families was organized today, Monday, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad under the slogan “Women… Work and Creativity”, in order to introduce the products of this segment of the society and highlight its achievements in various fields of crafts and traditional industries.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, accompanied by the Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Issues, Kaoutar Krikou, supervised the opening of this exhibition in the presence of a number of government members, as well as a number of representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Algeria.
Mr. Lamamra underlined, on the occasion, the importance of such events, which reflect the “vitality of society” and affirm “the involvement of all sectors in the comprehensive development effort included in the President’s Programme,” adding that organizing this exhibition is an opportunity to introduce the role of Algerian women in society and their contribution to national development.
After recalling the struggles of Algerian women during the liberation revolution and their contributions to the building and construction phase of the country, Mr. Lamamra assured that the exhibition of productive women and families is “a strong expression of the importance of the human resource in national development, especially the female and the youth category.”
For her part, Ms. Krikou emphasized that this event aims to introduce the products of women and the productive families in various sectors and fields, and their contribution to diversifying national production.
She added that organizing this event, in coordination with other ministerial departments, falls within the framework of encouraging women to engage in the national production process, and this “in implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who pays special attention to women’s economic empowerment and promotion in various fields.”
On this occasion, the ministerial delegation toured the various pavilions of the exhibition, which highlights the creativity of some artisans in traditional styles and industry that highlight the wealth and diversity of the Algerian heritage.
