Arkab discusses with the Ambassador of Sudan the strengthening of bilateral cooperation

The Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab received, on Monday, the Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan, Nadia Mohamed Khair Osman, with whom he discussed the cooperation relations between the two countries in the field of energy and mines and the means of their reinforcement, indicates a press release from the ministry.

During this meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the ministry, the two parties reviewed “the bilateral fraternal relations in the field of energy and the opportunities for investment and exchange of experiences, particularly in the field of exploration, production of hydrocarbons and petroleum products”, specifies the source.

A group of executives and experts from the Sonatrach Group paid a working visit to the Republic of Sudan a few days ago to examine ways of strengthening cooperation with Sudanese companies active in this field, adds the communiqué.

The two sides also discussed the investment opportunities in the fields of engineering, power generation and the development of power grids in Sudan, in addition to the significant cooperation and investment opportunities in the fields of mining, training and exchange of experiences, reads the press release.

On this occasion, Mr. Arkab recalled Algeria’s desire to strengthen relations and intensify trade with Sudan, particularly within the framework of the development strategy of the Sonatrach and Sonelgaz groups aimed at opening up to African markets.

For her part, the Ambassador of Sudan in Algeria expressed the particular interest accorded by her country to the strengthening of cooperation with Algeria and economic consultations, in addition to the exchange of experiences with a view to implementation of concrete projects as soon as possible, concludes the source.
