Army units rescue 5 sailors from a burning boat off Annaba coast

Units of the National People’s Army (ANP) rescued sailors whose boats caught fire then sank off north east Ras EL Hamra coast in the province of Annaba, said Friday, March 5, a statement from the Ministry of National Defense.

The same statement added “ In the framework of  missions and humanitarian efforts of the National Popular Army, and following a distress call launched by fishermen (05 sailors) from a fishing boat that caught fire before sinking northeast of Ras El Hamra in Annaba, Units of Annaba Coast Guard Territorial Group were sent to rescue the five sailors. Rescued sailors were evacuated to Ibn Rochd hospital.

These interventions reflect naval forces efforts in the framework of carrying out their various missions at sea, especially humanitarian ones, and of preserving the safety of citizens.
