Attaf holds talks with his Sudanese counterpart

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries in a phone call with his Sudanese counterpart, Ali Al-Sadiq Ali, according to a statement from the ministry on Monday.

“The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, received a phone call today from his brother, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Sudan, a sister country, Ali Al-Sadiq Ali, which was mainly devoted to examining ways to strengthen bilateral relations and consult on developments in matters of common interest at the regional level,” the statement said.

Minister Ali Al-Sadiq Ali took the opportunity to congratulate Minister Ahmed Attaf on his appointment as the head of Algerian diplomacy.

During their conversation, the two ministers expressed “pride in the historical relations of brotherhood, cooperation, and solidarity between the two sister countries,” emphasizing “their aspiration to explore together the promising prospects for bilateral cooperation in economic fields in the best interests of both parties.”

Mr. Attaf reaffirmed “Algeria’s permanent solidarity with Sudan, a sister country, in support of its security, stability, and the recovery of its rightful place in the continental organization,” according to the same source.

Regarding political coordination, the foreign ministers of the two countries exchanged views on a number of Arab and regional issues of common interest, reaffirming “the importance of reforming and strengthening Arab collective action for the preservation of Arab national security in all its dimensions,” the statement concluded.
