Award of the President of the Republic’s Prize for Amazigh Literature and Language in its second edition

The winners of the President of the Republic’s Prize for Amazigh Literature and the language in its second edition were honored today, Wednesday, in Tamanrasset, in parallel with the celebration of the Amazigh New Year “January” 2972, and the commemoration of the 26th anniversary of the establishment of the High Commission of Tamazight.

The ceremony of the second edition of the award, which was organized by the High Commission of Tamazight, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture and the province of Tamanrasset, took place at the Imzad House in Tamanrasset, in the presence of the Minister of Culture and Arts Wafaa Chaalal and the Secretary-General of the High Commission of Tamazight Si El-Hachemi Assad, in addition to the local and security authorities in the province, dignitaries of the region and members of both houses of Parliament.

The award includes four categories: research on the Amazigh intangible cultural heritage, Scientific, technological and digital research, linguistics, and Amazigh literature and that translated into Tamazight.

In the “Research on Amazigh intangible cultural heritage” category, the jury, chaired by Youcef Necib, awarded the first prize to Fertouni Khaled, the second to Ghilas Tewfik and the third to Saâoui Abdelkrim.

In the category “Scientific, technological and digital research”, the first prize was not awarded while the second and third prizes were awarded respectively to Agabi Shahrazad and Saoudi Abdessamie.

The first prize in the “Linguistics” category was not also awarded, while the second prize went to Touati Ramdane and the third to Dehane Noureddine.

In the category ” Amazigh literature and that translated into Tamazight “, the jury awarded the first prize to Maghzouchen Belkacem, the second to Maline Aïcha and the third to Hamza Mohamed.

During the award ceremony, the Secretary-General of the High Commission of Tamazight, Si El-Hachimi Assad, said in a speech that the celebration of this “joyful national feast” is a “historic moment”, given the importance attached by the state, led by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune to the Amazigh language and culture, praising the support that the Commission received from the People’s National Army for organizing this demonstration along with the Republican Guard, as part of the “strong bond between the army and the people.”

Assad stressed that this celebration bears “strong evidence that confirms that all the components of the Algerian identity are integrated and contribute to national cohesion and cannot be neglected adding that it constitutes the immunity that Algerians seek to face up to the various challenges and address all the dangers besetting the country.”
