
Algiers Civil Protection units have recovered the body of a 58-year-old dead woman following torrential rainfall during the last 24 hours, search for the second missing victim continues after their car were swept away, a statement from the Directorate General of Civil Protection said on Sunday.
The same source confirmed that civil Protection units carried out a search operation for two people who were on board a car that was washed away by waters of Saoula river, where they were able to retrieve the body of a 58-year-old woman, while the search for the second missing victim continues.
From 23 to 24 October 2021, Civil Protection carried out 43 operations, rescuing people trapped by rising water level and flooding, in addition to carrying out 138 operations to drain rainwater in residences and public and private facilities.
