Batna: 42nd edition of Timgad International Cultural Festival kicks off on July 27

The 42nd edition of the Timgad International Cultural Festival will kick off on July 27 in the eastern province of Batna, according to a statement of the festival commission.

The opening ceremony of the event, which will last until July 31, according to the same source, will be characterized by a varied artistic performance that will start from the square adjacent to the Mosque of the First of November to criss-cross the city center of Batna and reach the Martyrs Square.

Several well-known artistic figures from Algeria, Palestine, Tunisia and Lebanon will participate in the festival, which has been suspended for two years due to the Corona virus pandemic.

According to the same source, all the necessary conditions have been mobilized for the success of this cultural and artistic event, including the open-air theater.

The city of Timgad, famous for its ancient archaeological site has been prepared to welcome its guests.

It is worth noting that the Timgad International Cultural Festival, whose first editions date back to 1967, has witnessed the participation of many Arab and Western stars, as well as artistic and musical groups from all over the world.
