Beginning of the slaughtering process of the first batch of cattle in Adrar, to be marketed in the northern provinces

Veterinary services began the process of slaughtering the first batch of livestock in the province of Adrar, destined to the northern cities markets, to be followed by several operations in the rest of the southern states.

On Thursday, Trade Minister Kamel Rezig wrote on his official Facebook account, “As we had previously promised and by the decision of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and the support of the Prime Minister, in coordination and collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, we proceeded today, to the slaughtering of the first batch of livestock in the province of Adrar, to be marketed in the northern cities of the country”.

The minister added that this first operation “will be followed by several others in the rest of our southern states.”

The Minister of Trade indicated that this process marks “the first time in the history of Algeria that meat is marketed from the southern provinces to the rest of the country, after being previously prohibited.”

Rezig said that this process would “create a real commercial movement between the south and the north of the country, and that the first operation will be launched tomorrow from the province of Adrar under the supervision of the wali of the province.”
