Benattou Ziane takes office as Minister of energy transition and renewable energies

New Minister of energy transition and renewable energies, Benattou Ziane took up his post at the head of the ministry, after a handover ceremony with the Minister Chems Eddine Chitour, following the announcement of the new Algeria’s government led by Prime Minister Aïmene Benabderrahmane.

Professor Ziane was born on 9 August 1960 in Sidi Belabas, he received his doctorate in medicine in 1987 from the University of Oran, and graduated from the University of Louvain, Belgium in 1996.

He has been a Professor of Respirology Medicine at the University of Oran since 2011.

He held several positions, most recently as the head of department at the University Hospital in Tlemcen, from 2014 until he received the current ministerial portfolio.
