Benbouzid invites National Association of Pharmacists to participate in national health sessions

The Minister of Health, Professor Abderrahmane Benbouzid, called on the National Association of Algerian Pharmacists to participate in the national health sessions scheduled to be held before the end of December 2021, according to a statement issued on Monday by the same ministry.

This meeting constituted an opportunity for the two parties to review the epidemiological situation that Algeria is experiencing on account of the Covid-19 pandemic,  the association praised the way the Ministry of Health dealt with the various waves of the virus, a method that came in light of the coordinated vision on which the Scientific Committee relied to monitor and follow up on the Corona virus, according to the Minister of Health

This meeting was also an occasion for the National Association of Algerian Pharmacists to present its goals and priorities, which revolve mainly around the development of the pharmacy profession.

In this context, the members of the association welcomed their official participation in the national health sessions that will be held before the end of December 2021, noting their participation in the workshops of the regional sessions held recently, which dealt with several issues in addition to the management of medicines and pharmaceutical activity.

The two sides also touched on several issues, including the need to develop the pharmacy profession with a multidisciplinary scientific basis, and the development of hospital pharmacy, in addition to cooperation to promote pharmaceutical activity through field and continuous quality training, in addition to a presentation of a field investigation of the experience of the National Association of Algerian Pharmacists on the most prominent problems faced by pharmacists, especially those related to the issue of opening the accreditation and transfer of private pharmacies.

The Minister praised the work of the association, which includes more than 3,000 members, expressing his hope that this number will expand further in the future. He also stressed the need to promote and strengthen dialogue and work with social partners and civil society.
