
Minister of Health, Abderrahmane Benbouzid met, Thursday in Algiers, with the chairmen of parliamentary groups at the National People’s Assembly (APN) to discuss the health situation in Algeria following the spread of Covid-19 pandemic and the efforts made to address it.
In a statement to the media, the Minister said that “this meeting held at the request of the chairmen of parliamentary groups”, adding that it was ” positive “, stressing that ” the doors are open to communication and dialogue with everyone with the purpose to strengthen the cohesion between all parties and thus face this pandemic, while working together with the aim of achieving better results “.
For their part, chairmen of parliamentary groups said that the meeting allowed them to propose and review the efforts made by the state to cope with this pandemic and the means mobilized, especially facing the Corona virus variation, in addition to the lack of oxygen in hospitals and the high mortality rate.
They also stressed the importance of “solidarity and the joining of all efforts to preserve the health of citizens”, believing that vaccination is “the only solution in addition to the respect of barrier measures.
