Biskra: 130 exhibitors at the opening of National Exhibition of Handicrafts

The activities of the National Exhibition of Handicrafts opened at the House of Handicrafts and Crafts in Biskra, today, Saturday, with the participation of 130 exhibitors from many provinces of the country.

In this event, which brings together products of traditional industries from artisans representing more than 20 provinces, assortments of pottery, copper, wooden, leather products and traditional clothes are presented, in addition to traditional sweets.

The exhibition corridors include pavilions for decorating materials, home-made souvenirs and jewelry making, as well as derivatives of dates and palms, in addition to displaying dishes of traditional food.

This event comes after a period of stagnation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, as artisans are allowed to market their products with the influx of visitors to the area, according to the Director of the Chamber of Traditional Industry and Crafts of Biskra, Youssef Si Elabdi, who explained that this activity enables to highlight the craft product, through the exhibition as a suitable space for the craftsman to promote his products and for the visitor to acquire materials from the product without an intermediary.

This national exhibition, which will last until November 13, is being held at the initiative of the Chamber of Handicrafts and Crafts of the province of Biskra in coordination with the Directorate of Tourism and Handicrafts and in cooperation with the Office of Youth Institutions, according to the organizers.
