One person died and 12 others were injured in a traffic accident that occured today, Saturday, in the municipality of Maziraa (60 km east of Biskra), according to a statement of the civil protection services.
According to the same services, this accident, which occurred on the National Road No. 83 in its section linking Biskra and Khenchela, passing through Sidi Okba, was caused by a collision between a bus and a pickup truck at the entrance to Maziraa municipality.
The accident resulted in the death of a woman and the injury of 12 people, whose age ranges between 11 and 64 years, with various injuries, according to the same source.
The body was transported and the wounded were evacuated on board ambulances of the civil protection units towards the multi-service clinic in Ain El-Naga and the emergency department of the public hospital of the region.
Menawhile, the relevant regional security services opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
