The civil protection services of Blida, supported by teams from neighboring provinces, managed to extinguish 70 percent of the fire that broke out at around two o’clock this morning, Saturday, at the level of the heights of the national park of Chrea.
According to the same source, the mobile team for fighting forest fires, as well as the wilaya’s civil protection units, were reinforced in the provinces of Medea and Tipasa, as well as the national unit for training and intervention in Dar el Beida, Algiers.
In turn, forestry departments and the People’s National Army are participating in putting out the fire, which spread very quickly due to strong winds.
It is worth noting that this nature reserve had recorded, early last week, a fire that resulted in the loss of 25 hectares of its vegetation cover, as well as the death of a civil protection agent affiliated with the National Unit for Training and Intervention in Dar el Beida, and the injury of a civil protection agent and others affiliated with forest services with burns.
