The Board of Trustees of the International Union of Muslim Scholars announced the selection of the Indonesian, Habib Salem Saqqaf Al-Jafri, to head the union, until the end of next December.
A statement by the commission stated that “the Board of Trustees of the International Union of Muslim Scholars assigned Dr. Habib Salem Saggaf al-Jafri to head the union until the end of the current session next December,” after the resignation of Moroccan Ahmed Raissouni from his position.
