Bodybuilding, weightlifting and fitness / African Championship: Algeria wins seven medals, including six gold medals

The Algerian national team of weightlifting won seven medals, including six gold medals and broke three African records during the first day of the activities of the African Championship currently taking place in the Moroccan city of Meknes.

The seven national athletes that entered the competition during the first day won six gold medals thanks to Korea Safia Class 63 kg (seniors), Ziouar Sidali, 66 kg (seniors), Tobal Fateh, 83 kg (Seniors), Zaaf Farouk, 66 kg (Juniors). Ben Tir Chamseddine, 74 kg (juniors), Farjoukh Mohamed, 83 kg (juniors), Azwaou Salila, 74 kg (Kids), while Belmokadem Abdenasser won the silver medal in the 74 kg (Seniors). Three records were also broken during the competition.

The head of the Algerian Federation of Bodybuilding, Weightlifting and Fitness, Kamel Nadjah, affirmed that they are seeking to preserve the African title, while awaiting the results of the rest of the athletes.

Algeria participated in the African competition with 12 male and three female weightlifters, all of whom are ready to compete and defend their African title.
