The President of the People’s National Assembly, Brahim Boughali, received today, Monday, the Italian ambassador to Algeria, Giovanni Polizzi, during which they exchanged “convergent and similar” positions on a number of current issues, including the Palestinian and Saharan ones, according to a press release of the Assembly.
The same source explained that the courtesy visit paid by the Italian ambassador to the Speaker of the People’s National Assembly was an opportunity to discuss “the reality of historical and distinguished bilateral relations and ways to advance the pace of cooperation at the political and economic levels.”
The role of parliamentary diplomacy in promoting continuous consultation and providing opportunities for meeting between the parliaments of the two countries was also appreciated.
Finally, ways to combat the Coronavirus pandemic and how to reduce its effects on the economies of the two countries were discussed.
