Boughali receives presidents of Arab, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan Parliaments

The Speaker of the People’s National Assembly Brahim Boughali received on Saturday, in Algiers , the president of the Arab Parliament and the presidents of Azerbaijan and Tajikistan’s Parliaments, arrived in Algeria to participate in the 17th session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (PUIC), the Parliament’s Lower House said in a statement.

Boughali discussed with the President of the Arab Parliament, Adel Benabderrahmane Al-Assoumi, the preparations for this session scheduled for Sunday at the “Abdelatif Rahal” International Conference Centre and the decisions that will be taken “in the best interests of the Arab and Muslim nations”.

The two parties spoke of the “specific” nature of this meeting in view of the international situation.

The President of the National Assembly also received the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Sahiba Qafarova, with whom he reviewed “the state of relations between the two countries”, stressing the need to make more efforts at the bilateral and multilateral levels in the best interests of Arab and Muslim countries.

Boughali also received the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Republic of Tajikistan to whom he underlined “the excellence of bilateral relations and the desire to promote them”, adding that Algeria is keen to make the 17th session of the PUIC a milestone on the way to achieving the aspirations of Muslim peoples towards more progress and stability.

For his part, the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Republic of Tajikistan said he was delighted to be in Algeria, a country he was visiting for the first time, expressing his wish to work towards “strengthening bilateral parliamentary relations and promoting them to the highest levels”.
