Burkina Faso-Algeria: Algeria to keep winning path

Algeria national football team will face Burkina Faso in the second round of Qatar 2020 World Cup qualifier.

Following the outstanding win against Djibouti in Blida, the national team seeks to record its second win against Burkina Faso in an away game to lead the first group with six points, a major step towards reaching the playoffs.

Burkina Faso is hosting Algeria in Marrakech due to the fact that its stadiums, including the capital Ouagadougou Stadium, have not been qualified by FIFA committee. Botswana Joshua Bondo backed by Souru Phatsoane (Lesotho) and Matthew Kanyanga (Namibia) will be the referees of the game.

Djamel Belmadi, Algeria’s coach confirmed the readiness of the Greens to achieve a positive result despite the heat that may be slightly high in Marrakech.

The match is expected to be interesting, given that Burkina Faso managed to beat Nigeria in Marrakech in the absence of a number of its key players.

In addition to his sweeping victory, the Algerian national team is on a 28 consecutive games without defeat, including five consecutive victories in which the team of Captain Riyad Mahrez managed to score 20 goals and conceded only one goal.
