Burkina Faso-Algeria: crucial encounter for qualification

Burkina Faso national football team will receive this Tuesday at Marrakech stadium of Morocco the Algerian team as part of the second round of 2022 World-Cup qualifiers.

The encounter between the two teams will be decisive and vital for the qualification as Burkina Faso won Niger 2-0 in Marrakech stadium and Algeria won to Djibouti 8-0 in Blida stadium.

Burkina Faso players seems to have a little advantage, having been in Marrakech for several days, where they played Niger and stayed there for days, unlike the Algerian team that will be in Morocco one day before the game.

This situation does not worry the Algerian coach Djamel Belmadi, as he stressed that weather conditions currently prevailing in Morocco are the same as in Algeria, which makes the players do not need to adapt to them.

” Burkina Faso is not Djibouti, it will be a different kind of match, and we will do our best to come back with a positive result that will allow us to make a first step towards qualifying for the next World Cup,” said AC Milan midfielder Ismail Bennancer.

Like Niger in the first round, Burkina Faso is obliged to host Algeria in Marrakech, due to the non-qualification of its stadiums, including the capital Stadium, Ouagadougou by the qualification committee of the football federation (FIFA).

Botswana Joshua Bondo backed by Souru Phatsoane (Lesotho) and Matthew Kanyanga (Namibia) will be the referees of the game.
