Algerian football club CR Belouizdad claimed a precious away victory (2-0) over South African Mamelodi Sundowns today Friday in Priteroria, as part of the sixth and last round of the group 2 of the CAF African Champions League, sealing their qualification to the quarter finals.

CR Belouizdad delivered one of their finest displays in the competition this season with goals from Amir Sayoud and Ahmed Gasmi in the 13th and 45th minutes respectively.

Meanwhile, Sudanese Al Hilal, who were battling the Algerian side for the second qualifying spot in the group, went down 2-1 to their hosts Mazembe to lose their last hope of making it any further in the tournament

Following this week, CR Belouizdad is ranked second of the group with 9 points after Mamelodi Sundowns with 13 points who got its first loss in the group round, then TP Mazembe with 5 points and Sudanese Al Hilal at the last and 4th position.

The second Algerian representative in this interclub competition, MC Algiers, will play Saturday, away to the Tunisians of Esperance Tunis. A match scheduled at Rades stadium (17:00 Algeria Time) and during which a draw will be enough for the “Green and Red” to win their ticket to continue their adventure in this competition.
